Beam’s Custom Woodworking Inc. in Morgantown, Pennsylvania, was established in 2001 and is committed to producing the highest quality architectural woodwork and custom cabinetry.
The Pennsylvania-based residential and commercial woodshop used to do a lot of hand work, but the company is working hard to integrate modern technology into its 30,000-square-foot production facility. While it modernized its facility, the company had to keep its quality-level high. As a member of the Architectural Woodwork Institute (AWI) the company is dedicated to manufacturing its products in strict adherence to the AWI quality standards.
Michael Mannion, production supervisor at Beam's, said the company employs younger and older employees and incorporates old school techniques and the new, modern and computerized equipment. "It used to be a lot of hand work was done by people who had many years of experience in the woodworking business," he said. "It's not so much that way anymore, so it's very important that we keep up with the [new] technology."
