Kodiak Building Partners announces new president of operating unit

Stephen West

HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. — Kodiak Building Partners, a building materials distribution firm, appointed Stephen West as president of Zarsky Lumber Company, an operating unit of Kodiak Building Partners. His role is effective immediately.

“We are very excited to have Stephen at Zarsky,” said Phillip Steffy, co-president at Zarsky Lumber. “His strong leadership abilities and strategic planning will ensure that Zarsky continues to serve contractors and homeowners throughout Texas.”

West worked in district management for 30 years. Before accepting the position at Zarsky Lumber, he served as district manager of Safelite AutoGlass. There, he focused on setting sales estimates and revenue projections, maintaining consistent marketing efforts, managing the regional budget and enforcing financial parameters.

West also served as the district manager and market director at Lowe’s, where he is known for his leadership skills and building long-term partnerships, said Kodiak Building Partners.

“After thorough succession planning and a comprehensive search process, the company is pleased to have found the best individual to assume leadership of our organization,” said Steve Weaver, co-president of Zarsky Lumber. “Stephen has a track record of strong leadership both inside and outside of the lumber and building materials industry. This combined with his deep industry knowledge and tenure makes Stephen uniquely qualified to lead Zarsky successfully into the future.”

“Stephen is the best choice from a deep pool of interested and highly qualified candidates,” said Pat Flood, executive vice president of operations for Kodiak Building Partners. “He has been a successful director in his previous positions. Even more important, he is a great fit with both Kodiak and Zarsky’s cultures: He values community, family and service. We’re delighted that he has accepted this position.”
