MONTREAL – The Mountain Cove is a repurposed mid-century California-style residence nestled in the prestigious Mont-Royal Mountain sector of Montreal’s Outremont district.

The 4,365-square-foot dwelling, designed by MU Architecture, is characterized by an irregular trapezoidal shape. Among the home’s amenities is a basement-level four-car garage, a laundry room equipped with a small dog shower, and a golf simulator.

The kitchen crafted by Élément Bois is a centerpiece in Nero Marquina marble and black Fenix that creates a striking contrast with the white walls and ceilings. Two islands of different sizes and orientations ensure not only comfort and functionality, but also conviviality during gatherings. The main island includes a sink, while the second serves as a service area, a bar with its integrated ice seal, and sometimes even a DJ table.

The living room centers around a television unit with a gas fireplace and a black Fenix mantel. The white oak panels that adorn it creates visual harmony, while accentuating the warmth of the space.

Other designer touches include a wooden module that houses a cloakroom and a wine cellar. Meanwhile, a central thermos-lacquered steel staircase, maple steps, and glass handrails contribute to the grandeur of the place.
